THE carrier pigeon which takes a copy of Memories to Alan Mordey of Leamington Spa was obviously slow but he, too, confirms that the two-tone car in Crook in March 1962 was a Hillman Minx estate Car (Memories 292 and 293).
Other people are interested in other vehicles in the picture. Thomas Spresser says: The Co-op van is a Morris Commercial of the walk-through type which was much favoured by mobile shops, but the split screen lorry behind is a Ford Thames and definitely not a Dodge.”
Frank Headen from Bowburn agrees with that identification, and points to the Ford Popular 100E in front of the Minx and then comes a Ford Consul Farnham estate.
