A MAN is facing jail after admitting a vicious attack which saw the victim placed into an induced coma.
Neil Somerton, of Pateley Moor Crescent, Darlington, pleaded guilty to a charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to the attack on a 27-year-old man on August 17 this year.
The 49-year-old appeared at Teesside Crown Court via a video link to Holme House Prison where he is in custody.
He will be sentenced on December 10 this year once a report on him is prepared by the probation service.
The victim was beaten unconscious and suffered a bleed on his brain, a collapsed lung and cuts to his face.
