INQUESTS have been opened and adjourned into the deaths of two teenagers killed in separate tragedies just days apart.

Fifteen-year-old Kyle Hull died on Sunday, April 12 after falling through the roof of Darlington Auction Mart five days earlier, suffering serious head injuries.

His friend, Tyrone Singh, 18, was killed during the early hours of Wednesday, April 15 when the silver Hyundai Getz he was driving collided with a barrier on the A66 between Darlington and Stockton.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, but later died from his injuries.

An inquest into his death was opened at Teesside Coroner’s Court yesterday (Monday, April 20).

Assistant Coroner Malcolm Donnelly said Mr Singh’s death was “subject to an investigation by the police who will be preparing a report”.

He added that a post-mortem has also been carried out by Dr Jan Lowe, who will also prepare a report for the full inquest.

At Crook Civic Centre in Crook, County Durham, today (Tuesday, April 21) coroner Andrew Tweddle heard Kyle had died from a cardiac arrest caused by a traumatic brain injury.

Coroner’s officer Charlotte Peacock confirmed Kyle’s family had no issues with the cause of death meaning the case could go ahead without a post-mortem.

Mr Tweddle adjourned the inquest until Monday, June 29 to allow further inquiries to take place.

Kyle’s family have paid tribute to the keen scooter rider, describing him as a good son, loving brother, grandson, nephew and cousin.

They said they hoped some good could come from their heartache and urged the youngster’s friends to “have fun, be safe and if you love someone tell them.”

Last week, hundreds of people came together to show their support for the families of the two Darlington teenagers.

At 4Motion Skate Park in Darlington, on Friday, April 17, scores of young people wore t-shirts emblazoned with the words ‘ride for Kyle’ and gave donations to help with funeral costs.

On Sunday, April 19, hundreds gathered to remember Mr Singh at 3D Strength Gym, in Darlington’s Skerne Park.

A charity football match will also be held as a tribute to the aspiring body builder and strongman competitor on Sunday, May 3 at 1.30pm at Darlington Railway Athletic Club, in Brinkburn Road.

Kyle’s funeral takes place on Thursday, April 23, at 12.30pm at St Cuthbert’s Church, in Darlington. All are welcome.
