A NORTH-EAST pub has turned the clock back on its prices to celebrate its second anniversary.

The Half Moon, on Darlington’s Northgate, will be selling pints for £2.50 from 6pm today (Friday, May 29) until closing time on Sunday to reflect the price of the drinks sold when it first opened in 2013.

Landlord John Anderson said the initiative was a nice way to mark the pub’s anniversary whilst rewarding loyal customers and perhaps enticing new drinkers through the door.

He said: “I think we have come into the industry at a hard time, I think every pub is finding it a little bit of a struggle at this time, but we specialise in real ale so a lot of people do come and seek us out.”

The pub also incorporates a Crafty Pint bottle stall which first found success with a stall at Darlington’s Covered Market.

And work is currently underway to create a micro-brewery in the building’s cellar, with Mr Anderson hopeful that the first test brews will take place next month.
