A TRUCKER has appeared before magistrates charged with driving a tanker on one of the region's busiest roads while over the drink-driving limit.
Northallerton Magistrates Court adjourned the hearing over Christopher Grainger, 56, until July 10, after being told his solicitor was on holiday.
He is charged with driving a Man heavy tractor tanker on the A19 northbound carriageway at Crathorne, near Northallerton, on Sunday, June 14, with 40 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millitres of breath, while the legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Mr Grainger, of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, spoke only to confirm his name and address and was granted unconditional bail.
