A SPLASH of colour help people to remember their loved ones while supporting the work of Teesside Hospice.

The charity's annual Sunflower Appeal dedication campaign has been officially launched and throughout the month of August beautifully crafted sunflowers, bearing the name of loved ones, will planted as part of a display within Teesside Hospice grounds.

All those who take part in the appeal are invited to come and view the display and attend a special service in memory of all those for whom a sunflower has been dedicated.

Helen Clarkson, staff nurse at Teesside Hospice has championed the campaign, she said, “More than 170 sunflowers have been dedicated up to now and they look wonderful in the hospice grounds. Parents, grandparents, children, husbands, wives and even the hospice itself have been remembered and it is so moving and emotional seeing the display and understanding the love it represents.”
