SUNDERLAND and former England footballer Adam Johnson will now go on trial charged with child sex offences on February 10 next year.
He had been due to stand trial at Durham Crown Court on Monday, August 24, but following a hearing at the court today, the trial will now take place at Bradford Crown Court, West Yorkshire, next year.
The 28-year-old ex-Middlesbrough and Manchester City winger has already denied three counts of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl and a further charge of grooming a girl under 16.
The £10m midfielder, who lives in Castle Eden, County Durham, attended a case management hearing today with his legal representative.
The hearing addressed a number of administrative and legal issues.
A further pre-trial review hearing will be held at Bradford Crown Court on October 6.
The father-of-one has been granted bail throughout the proceedings, allowing him to continue playing for the Black Cats, who start the new Premier League season on Saturday (August 8) with a trip to Leicester City.
The trial is expected to take up to two weeks.
