THE biggest gathering of military vehicles has been on show in the North-East
The North East Military Vehicle Rally took place over the August bank holiday weekend in the grounds of the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery.
Now in its 42nd year, the event featured about 70 restored vehicles and pieces of artillery dating from the 1930s to the present day.
There were stalls, living history displays and dioramas as well as art and craft activities for younger visitors.
A museum spokesman said: "A lot of people have family in the forces and so have a connection with the military but it is also a bit of a spectacle and a good day out.
“We have had the crowds here and people seem to be enjoying themselves.”
