INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed hair colour guru Jack Howard showcased his skills in a masterclass event at Darlington College.
Organised by the National Hairdressers’ Federation, Mr Howard introduced Balayage - free-hand hair highlighting - to eager participants.
Widely credited for bringing the French colouring technique to the UK, Mr Howard’s illustrious career has taken him across the globe.
Celebrated by magazines such as Vogue and Elle, he has transformed the hair of many celebrity clients, such as Gillian Anderson, Poppy Delevigne and Donna Air.
Mr Howard was positive about the event and said: “This is my first time in both County Durham and the North-East and everyone has been brilliant.
“I am happy to help hairdressers who want to uplearn their skillset and offer something new.”
The day’s activities saw him give a seminar and demonstration, with afternoon workshops to perfect the Balayage technique.
Carol Cooke, programme leader for Hairdressing Apprentices at Darlington College, said: “This event has showcased the college and our facilities to the industry.
“Having Jack, who has an internationally successful career, here today has been totally inspiring.”
