A SPECIAL Snowdrop Walk will be held in Sedgefield this month to raise funds for charity.

People will be able to plant a snowdrop in memory of a loved one at the Child Bereavement UK event at Hardwick Park on Sunday, February 28.

The annual event marks a day of remembrance for babies and children who have died, and the children who are bereaved each year.

Alan Titchmarsh, patron of Child Bereavement UK, said: “Thanks to the generous support of Hardwick Park we are pleased to be holding our annual Snowdrop Walk in Sedgefield.

“The Snowdrop Walk is a special day to remember the babies and children who have died and the many children bereaved each year.”

Child Bereavement UK supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement.

Snowdrops are available for purchase on the day and volunteers will be on hand to help with the planting at a dedicated area in the park.

Hot food and refreshments will be available from the Visitor Cafe.

Entry to the event between 12pm and 3pm is free however donations can be made.
