A MAN has admitted racially abusing another man in a pub argument.
Thomas Edward Wood, of West Auckland Road, Darlington, got into the argument while drinking with a friend at a pub on December 29.
The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to racially aggravated harassment when he appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 24. The court heard he swore at the man and called him a “Paki”.
Judge Martin Walker gave him a 15-month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay court costs of £85.
He said: “It’s no civilised society which accepts racism.
“Be careful what you say in a public place next time.”
