DANCING displays, fairground rides and a dog show are just some of the treat in store at a popular annual event this weekend.

Ferryhill Summer Fair will return to Dean Bank Park on Sunday, August 7, from 11am to 4pm.

This year, an arena will host performances by the Dean Bank Line Dancers, New Generations Dancers and the British Legion Line Dancers. There will also be a dog show with free entry for all dogs.

Other attractions include the Bishop’s Pipe Band, a junior funfair, a vintage car display and a chance to meet a host of familiar faces including the Frozen princesses, Spider Man and a Star Wars StormTrooper.

There will also be stalls, children’s entertainer Mr Abro, free face painting, coconut shy, burger van, ice cream van, police quad bikes, rodeo bull and children’s quad bikes.

Ferryhill Town Youth Football, meanwhile, is organising a junior football knockout competition.

Entry to the event is free and free parking facilities are available on the park. Dog show applications forms are available from the Town Hall or owners can register their pet on the day before 12.30pm.
