A CHARITY that helps people into work will be able to rise to the challenge thanks to a donation from a local bakery.

Five Lamps, which runs a Ready for Work Club, aims to provide unemployed people in the Stockton area with a central place to meet and share experiences, exchange skills, career confidence and opportunities to help them return to work.

And they have just been boosted by a £10,000 donation from Warburtons to help them get even more people into work.

The Ready for Work Clubs will support 100 unemployed people in the Stockton area, providing members with a series of sessions where they can set goals, identify their strengths and build relationships.

Members will benefit from one to one mentoring to help them review and achieve their employment goals.

Nicola Garrett, director of communications at Five Lamps said: “The aim of Five Lamps is to transform lives and raise aspirations. This donation will help us significantly, by enabling unemployed people in Stockton to have access to valuable guidance and support to help unlock their potential and enter employment.”

Brett Warburton, executive director at Warburtons said: “As a family business, we place a high value on the importance of supporting families whilst also striving to make a meaningful impact within communities close to our bakery operations.

“The Ready for Work Club project is a great example of a project which strives to improve the lives of people struggling to gain employment through mentoring, training and employment support.”
