THREE men have been arrested after a man and woman were injured in North Yorkshire.    

The incident in Selby was reported to North Yorkshire Police at 5.16am on Saturday by Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

"Following enquiries, two men aged in their early-30s and one man aged in his mid-20s have been arrested in connection with the investigation," said a spokesman for North Yorkshire Police.

"The injured man and woman are receiving treatment at hospital.

"The circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear at this stage.

"Officers are working to establish the full facts with house-to-house and forensic enquiries on-going in a number of locations in Selby."

Witnesses or anyone with information that could assist officers are asked to come forward "without delay".
