On Saturday evening, P!nk along with various other supporting acts put on a spectacular show filled with excellent performances, laser shows, and pyrotechnics.

The artist's big event began its first day on Wearside on Saturday (June 11) with an opening set by DJ KidCutUp, who prepared the audience for Gayle, The Script, and P!nk throughout the course of the event.

As more and more concert-goers filled the stadium and took their seats, the lively delivered an enthusiastic performance to the crowd who adored her performance of abcdefu and ur just horny, while the singer also debuted a new song.

She finished her performance by thanking attendees and P!nk for the opportunity to perform for them all.

Following this, The Script took to the stage and had the crowd eating out of their hand, in more ways than one as frontman Danny O'Donoghue tossed sweets into the crowd.

The band got a sing-a-long going with The Man Who Can't Be Moved, and delighted fans after serenading an audience member's ex over facetime with Nothing.

Adding to this, they also performed a special version of their song Paint The Town Green in honour of the headliner.

The band paid a moving tribute to their guitarist and friend Mark Sheehan with their song If You Could See Me Now.

The group closed out their performance with words of encouragement for those attending, and followed this with a rousing rendition of their hit song Hall of Fame.

As P!nk's arrival drew closer, the anticipation of the crowd burgeoned with each track preceding her entrance causing onlookers to prepare their phones before placing them back in their pockets.

When the time came for the songstress to make her entrance, she did so in grand fashion suspended above the stage before descending and delivering her performance.

Fans greeted the entrance with joy and fervour, and she met their enthusiasm with an energetic performance of Get The Party Started, all while bungee jumping above the stage in what was an impressive display.

P!nk's interactive and engaging style of performing resonated with her fans who were hooked on the performance, with one fan carrying a sign they had a c-section 11 days prior to the event.

The singer expressed shock at the sign and commended the woman for how strong she was, before telling the audience how she struggled to walk on a beach five days after her own delivery.

These fan interactions were common throughout the performance, and the performer made sure to congratulate a couple who got engaged in the crowd during a performance of her song What About Us.

Following this and an exchange with her pianist and musical director Jason Chapman, she performed Just Give Me a Reason to the delight of those in attendance.

Meanwhile, the crowd were also captivated as the singer belted out fan favourites such as Raise Your Glass and Just Like a Pill.

The crowd were invested in every song performed by P!nk, in a set list which also included Try, Just Like Fire (which included Pyrotechnics that helped with the chill filling the venue), and Please Don't Leave Me.

A very nice moment took place as the artist was joined onstage by daughter Willow to sing Cover Me in Sunshine, with the ending met with thunderous applause from all corners of the venue.

To cap off the concert, the singer, saving the best for last, performed popular song So What to send the crowd home happy.

While the traffic leaving the stadium left our reporter feeling awful, I consider this a karmic balancing act for a thoroughly enjoyable show.

More P!nk are set to enjoy the event even more as it returns to Stadium of Light again on Sunday.
