A Darlington road will close tomorrow morning after a power cable came down.

Darlington Borough Council (DBC) have confirmed a power cable has come down across Burtree Lane between Trevone Way and Whessoe Road junction today (November 17).

They confirmed the road remains open but will be closed tomorrow (November 18) morning from 9am while the cable is reattached.

The work is expected to take four to five hours.

A Darlington Borough Council spokesperson said: "We have been informed by Northern Powergrid that an overhead power cable has come down across Burtree Lane between Trevone Way and Whessoe Road junction.

"The road is still open now however it will need to be closed from 9am on Saturday (18 November), so the cable can be reattached.

"There will be a full diversion in place along Whessoe Road and Longfield Road. The work is expected to take four to five hours."
