Friends have paid tribute to a young boy was found hanged yesterday.

The boy, named locally as Keiran Stott, 14, was found dead at an address in Droitwich Avenue, Stockton.

Police were called to the property at 12.30pm yesterday after the teenager was found.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Dozens of tributes have been left for the youngster, who attended specialist technology college Grangefield School, on social networking sites.

One teenager wrote on Facebook: “R.I.P Keiran thoughts with your family.

Another said: “R.I.P Keiran you may be gone but you will never be forgotten.”

Another tribute read: “R.I.P Keiran. God bless your soul, thoughts are with your friends and family.”

A female friend said: “R.I.P Keiran so many memories from primary, respect for your family everyone will miss you sleep tight.”

Another young girl said: “Rest in peace Keiran Stott.”

Messages were also posted on Twitter.

One boy said: “Keiran Stott you will be missed, you have gone to a better place now.”

Another simply said: “R.I.P Keiran Stott#Youllbemissed”

A post-mortem examination was expected to be carried out today.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to an address on Droitwich Avenue in Stockton at 12.30pm yesterday after the discovery of a boy’s body.

“The body has been identified as a 14-year-old boy and the death is not being treated as suspicious.”
