Keith Graydon wants to leave Spennymoor Town and has handed in a transfer request.

The midfielder, a scorer at Wembley when Moors won the FA Vase in 2013, has not been a regular this season and was used as a sub during yesterday's 1-0 FA Cup win over Ashford at the Brewery Field.

Manager Jason Ainsley said: "Today, with a very heavy heart, I have agreed to Keith Graydon’s transfer request.

"I had a chat with 'Rash' and he quite rightly feels he wants to be playing week in week out, which is something, especially with the form of the other lads in that area, that I can’t guarantee.

"Rash has brought us many memories in his times with us, none more so than last season with the winner in the FA Vase final and his performances throughout previous seasons that I can honestly say that it’s one of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make.

"I still feel Keith would offer us something this season, but fully understand at his age and the travelling involved he wants to play local and more regularly. Rash is not only a fantastic footballer but a tremendous part of the banter in the dressing room and will be greatly missed by us all."
