Prescot Cables 0 Spennymoor Town 0.

Spennymoor were held to a goalless draw by Prescot Cables for the second time this season on Saturday.

Moors were kept at bay by a 17 year old rookie keeper, Ben Morrow, who stepped in to make his debut after the regular choice cried off on the morning of the game.

Morrow made his previous appearance against Spennymoor at the Brewery Field in August when he came on as a sub and saved a penalty.

Moors manager Jason Ainsley said; “It was a very poor performance. It says it all when our best performers were our two central defenders and goalkeeper. We didn’t create anything of note which is disappointing considering the attacking players we have. People go on about systems but it doesn’t matter which system you play if you can’t pass and keep the ball enough which we didn’t on Saturday.”

There wasn’t much between the teams throughout a poor game. Moors keeper Luke Coddington made a couple of good saves, while Shane Henry went close for Moors with a 20 yarder.

Moors’ next game is against Shildon on Tuesday in the Durham Challenge Cup semi final at the Brewery Field..
