Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley says that his team has no distractions now as they push for a play off place at Droylsden on Saturday.

Moors have dropped to sixth in the table, outside the play off places, because they dropped points at Prescot last Saturday, and other clubs played and won in midweek. Today’s opponents Droylsden are level on points with Moors, but have played five games more.

Moors were disappointingly beaten by Shildon in the Durham Challenge cup semi final in midweek, and Ainsley said; “Today won't define our season although it will be a great opportunity to put distance between ourselves and Droylsden who in my opinion on the game at our place were one of the best footballing sides we have played.

“Some players who have been waiting patiently will most likely get an opportunity today as we need to freshen things up. I was disappointed with the defeat against Shildon. In the first half we were not good enough even though we had more of the ball we didn't do enough with it and Shildon every time they went forward looked like they were going to score.

“But second half we totally dominated the game and were camped in their half for 45 minutes but left ourselves too much to do in the end. It was a great opportunity to reach another final but we move on and wish Shildon the best of luck in the final. We now have no distractions and no excuses in our aim for the play offs.”

Midfielders Lewis Hawkins and Robert Briggs, plus striker Ian Ward will all return to the squad after being cuptied in midweek.
