I was suspended for the win last Saturday against Warrington, and I couldn’t get back into the team for the away game at Clitheroe on Tuesday!

Obviously I was disappointed that I couldn’t start, but if I wasn’t disappointed then there would be something wrong with me. Paul Johnson has come back from the injury that he picked up about a month ago, and he had a really good game last Saturday, so I can understand why the gaffer stuck with him on Tuesday. There are plenty of games left this season, and hopefully I’ll get back into the team, but I know it will be tough if Paul keeps playing well.

We’ve had some very good results in our last two matches against Warrington and Clitheroe, and we’re right in the thick of the battle for the play offs.

Andrew Stephenson has suddenly hit a purple patch. He scored two great goals against Warrington, and then he got another on Tuesday at Clitheroe. He’s playing with bags of confidence at the moment.

Maybe we could have scored more against Clitheroe, they weren’t much better than the game at the Brewery Field when we beat them 8-3.

We’ve got two games coming up now against teams that are at the wrong end of the table, Padiham and New Mills, but it’s by no means certain that we’ll pick up six points. Both of them are fighting for their lives, and won’t make it easy for us.

There’s war in the dressing room between Ian Ward and Shane Henry. Somebody put Ian’s trainers in the freezer and they came out frozen solid, so Ian bought some locusts and put them in Shane’s bag after the Warrington game a week ago! There were locusts all over the dressing room one or two players were even screaming! So funny. Wardy has declared war on Shane now for freezing his trainers, so the rest of us are wondering what’s going to happen next...
