Wilko stores across the UK have been left in limbo after the company went into administration last month, with 52 of the stores already set to close.

Over 1,000 jobs are set to be lost this week as tens of Wilko stores close their doors for the final time after PwC failed to secure a rescue deal for the business.

Bishop Auckland’s Wilko store is one of over 50 across the country that has confirmed its doors will permanently close this month.

It is currently the only store in the North East that has confirmed a closure date.

Customers will have their last chance to shop in the store on September 12 before it closes for good, as many other stores go through the same process.

This comes days after fellow discount retailer B&M secured a rescue deal to purchase 51 of the stores – which stores they have purchased remains unknown.

Here’s an interactive map showing all 52 of the Wilko locations that are set to close.
